Tiana JacksonDance Teaching ArtistTiana Jackson is from Newark, Delaware and graduated from Newark High School with honors. During high school, she was a part of the AKAette Scholarship program and was named Miss. Pink 2015-2016. She began dancing at the age of five and continued her dance studies at Christina Cultural Arts Center where she trained under Dara Meredith. She continued her studies at DCNS (Dance Creates New Stars) Summer Dance Intensive. Throughout the years, she has performed at the Pentagon, Delaware Art Museum, and 2020 Clifford Brown Jazz Festival. Tiana has performed works by Dara Meredith, Hinton Battle, Assane Konte, Chris and Alma Law, Ella Rothschild, and others. In 2018, she danced for Raye Avery Jones Jazz concert at the Delaware Art Museum which granted her the opportunity the next year to open for the Black Iris Dance Project. Tiana attended Howard University as a dance major; however, she found that giving back to her community, specifically young children, was what she wanted after returning home for the summer. Continuing her studies in Early Childhood Education, Tiana is a dance teaching artist at the Early Childhood Education Arts Academy and a dance instructor of Modern and Ballet at Christina Cultural Arts Center.
